Exhibition 1 - "Double Exposure: Equestrian"

This was my first solo exhibition. After a conversation with staff (who had spotted my work at the previous end of year show), I was offered the space in The Gallery Restaurant at the Ashington Campus to display more work. I set about creating new pieces to match the others, but unfortunately due to personal circumstances the dsplaying of the work got done late, and as a result they were only on the walls for a few days. Thankfully, as you can see, plenty of people actually saw the work with it being the busy Christmas lunch period at the restaurant. I decided it would be a shame for the pieces to not go somewhere else, so got in contact with the staff at the Kirkley Hall Campus to try and arrange something. Lo and behold, there was space available in their lovely tea room, The Orangery. I took a few pieces with me to get an idea of where each piece would go, made a few notes on layout and returned a few days later. The pieces were finally up for their whole intended two weeks and since the renovaton of the tea room, one piece now has a more permanent spot on the walls ('Wire Wool' image). I learned a lot from my first solo show and looked forward to setting up the next one.
